Position Overview
-
RehabGYM is seeking a motivated, team-oriented Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive sports medicine services at Colchester High School for the 2026–2027 academic year. This is a school-based position focused on injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and return-to-play management for student-athletes across all athletic programs.
Key Responsibilities

Provide on-site athletic training coverage for practices and home competitions

Perform injury evaluations, develop treatment plans, and manage rehabilitation programs

Implement injury prevention strategies, including taping, bracing, and movement education

Coordinate and communicate with coaches, parents, physicians, and school staff regarding athlete care

Manage return-to-play protocols and ensure safe progression following injury or illness

Conduct concussion management, including baseline and post-injury testing using ImPACT
-
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of injuries, treatments, and outcomes

Oversee and maintain the athletic training facility, including supplies and equipment

Assist with emergency care planning and response for athletic events

Support strength & conditioning collaboration and general athlete performance initiatives when appropriate

Ensure compliance with state regulations, school policies, and best practices in sports medicine
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field

BOC Certification (ATC) required

Eligible for or currently licensed as an Athletic Trainer in Vermont
-
CPR/AED certification required

Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
