Position Overview

• RehabGYM is seeking a motivated, team-oriented Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive sports medicine services at Colchester High School for the 2026–2027 academic year. This is a school-based position focused on injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and return-to-play management for student-athletes across all athletic programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site athletic training coverage for practices and home competitions

• Perform injury evaluations, develop treatment plans, and manage rehabilitation programs

• Implement injury prevention strategies, including taping, bracing, and movement education

• Coordinate and communicate with coaches, parents, physicians, and school staff regarding athlete care

• Manage return-to-play protocols and ensure safe progression following injury or illness

• Conduct concussion management, including baseline and post-injury testing using ImPACT

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of injuries, treatments, and outcomes

• Oversee and maintain the athletic training facility, including supplies and equipment

• Assist with emergency care planning and response for athletic events

• Support strength & conditioning collaboration and general athlete performance initiatives when appropriate

• Ensure compliance with state regulations, school policies, and best practices in sports medicine

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field

• BOC Certification (ATC) required

• Eligible for or currently licensed as an Athletic Trainer in Vermont

• CPR/AED certification required

• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
