And a bonus, the rollout of our new job board!Â

Welcome to the second edition of the Athletic Trainer Finder Weekly Roundup.
First and foremost, thank you for the response to week one. The initial newsletter was put out to gauge interest and to see whether others felt the same way I did about the athletic trainer job market and the tools available to us. The answer was a clear yes.
Â
By the numbers: more than 2,000 newsletter views, over 20,000 LinkedIn impressions, and reach into every single state (except Wyoming, where are the Wyoming ATs at!?!). That level of engagement says a lot, and I genuinely appreciate everyone who took the time to read, share, and reach out.
Â
With that in mind, let’s take a look at this week’s market!
Â
The theme remains consistent: volume is high, quality is uneven. Industrial, clinic-based, and health system roles continue to lead the way in pay transparency and defined scope. Meanwhile, many school and collegiate postings still rely on vague expectations and broad, catch-all responsibilities. The roles that stand out are the ones that make the trade-offs clear up front—salary, calendar, and actual job function—without forcing you to read between the lines. We are also starting to see some AT Residency positions open up!
Â
Alongside this weekly roundup, I’m rolling out a dedicated job board built specifically for athletic trainers. This won’t function like a traditional job board. It will reset weekly by design, allowing us to keep a finger on the pulse of new roles as they hit the market, rather than letting stale postings linger. Only featured and verified roles will remain active week over week. The goal is simple: add useful context—short summaries, what actually stands out, and a few practical questions worth asking before you apply or take a call. Think of the newsletter as the high level scan, and the job board as the deep dive. Again, this is in it's first iteration, so keep coming back to see how we are able to make it better week after week!

Work Right NW - Conover, NC
Athletic Trainer ($67000.00-$76000.00 /yr)
Why it’s worth a look: Industrial continues to be one of the more stable lanes, and this one is very direct about the money—including a $10,000 completion bonus tied to a 21-month contract. Employer-paid benefits are explicitly mentioned, which you don’t always see spelled out in worksite roles.
Â
Auburn Memorial Medical Services, PC - Auburn, NY
Athletic Trainer ($70000.00-$80000.00 /yr)
Why it’s worth a look: It’s an ortho-office embedded role working directly with orthopedic providers, which usually means tighter clinical alignment than the typical outreach setup. The listed range ($70k–$80k) is strong—especially for a posting that’s positioned as per diem—so it’s worth a close read on scope and expectations.
Â
Maret School - Washington, D.C.
Asst/Assoc Athletic Trainer ($65,000.00-$75,000.00 /yr)
Why it’s worth a look: A ten-month contract (mid-August to mid-June) is one of the clearest lifestyle signals you’ll find, predictable calendar and defined time away. The salary is posted and the role spans upper and middle school coverage, which can be a nice balance if you like the school setting but want clearer structure.Â
The Medicus Firm - Gibson City, IL
Athletic Trainer ($60000.00-$85000.00 / annual)
Why it’s worth a look: $85k top-end with additional bonus incentives for summer/weekend shifts gives you a clearer earning picture than most. It also states a 401(k) with a 4% match (100% vested), which is a great perk!
Â
AID Performance Physical Therapy - Ashburn, VA
Certified Athletic Trainer ($60000.00-$75000.00 /yr)
Why it’s worth a look: This one is unusually specific about professional development: $1,000/year CE + up to 3 paid CE days and even a fully funded Dry Needling certification (if applicable). It also calls out a patient-care model (1-hour evals, max two patients at a time) and lists bonus potential plus a company-matched Simple IRA, which is more transparent than most clinic-adjacent roles.
Â
Go4 (for Tantasqua Regional High School) - Fiskdale, MAAsst Athletic Trainer ($55.00-$60.00 / hourly)Why it’s worth a look: Hourly at that rate is hard to ignore, especially if you’re evaluating what your time is actually worth. The posting also lists a signing bonus, relocation stipend, and license renewal reimbursement — clean, concrete items. If you are looking for something temporary to finish out the year and you don’t have any roots down, this position could be an excellent landing place before your next gig!
UW Health — Madison, WIAthletic Training Resident ($49,000 / yr)
Why it’s worth a look:For a CAATE-accredited athletic training residency, $49,000 is legitimately strong resident pay—higher than what many comparable programs offer for the same 12-month commitment. This is a true education-forward role with heavy orthopedic exposure: surgical rotations (knee, shoulder, hip preservation, foot & ankle), pediatrics, primary care sports medicine, plus radiology and OR time. You’re trading one year of peak earning potential for accelerated clinical development, academic credibility, and a clearer runway into high-level ortho or sports medicine roles. If you’re intentionally investing in your next step—not just your next paycheck—this is a solid bet.
